Overcoming shyness is a case of mind over matter. If you're afraid to do it, then do it afraid. The more you approach and talk to people, the easier it will become. You may also find that it's not as difficult as you thought anyway. Just talk to people a little more each day.
Dress to impress. The better you look the more confidence you'll feel. Feeling good about your appearance can greatly reduce shyness.
If you're up on stage try to imagine that you're someplace else. Maybe in the comforts of your own living room. Tell yourself that the people in the audience are really no big deal. They're ONLY people. Nothing life threatening about that (in most cases).
To find a nice guy you must never believe what anyone tells you about other people. You have to be the judge of an individual. Gossip and politics are really hard on the nice guy. I say this because bad guys will almost never play fair. They will say things to make a good guy look bad. Even a jealous woman will say something to make you go away, if she likes the guy and she doesn't want you to have him. To insure you meet a nice guy, take all warnings you get from people with a grain of salt. Your opinion about the person is all that matters.

If you stay shy, you'll end up with empty hands. Get some courage and either invite him or get an invitation to go to his place. Then give him a real hard f***...Next time you'll be more realistic. Don't even think his mind is not on the same wave!
