Falun Dafa - The Ancient Teaching About Harmony with The Universe
"The Buddha Fa* is most profound among all the theories in the world, it is the most intricate and extraordinary science. In order to explore this domain, humankind must fundamentally change its thinking. Otherwise the truth about the universe will forever remain a mystery to humankind, and everyday people will forever crawl within the boundary delimited by their own ignorance"
Falun emblem is the symbol of this ancient teaching on spiritual growth and evolution. As an incessant process - this is attested by many ancient teachings - spiritual evolution is focused on the eternal laws of the Universe.Extensive lessons and recommendations of some of the greatest ancient teachings are offered on this site, especially from the ancient science of Kabbalah. However, there are many other ancient teachings and wisdom sources like, for instance, the teaching Panevritmia by Master Petar Dunov of Bulgaria, The Slavic-Aryan Vedi from Russia - dating back 600,000 years, Zoroastrianism, Tangrism related to ancient Bulgaria and Thrace, Sufism, Siberian Shamanism, Falundafa - explored here - and probably other ancient teachings from places like Shumer, India, Tibet, etc.
Modern science, especially Quantum Physics has also discovered some of the most important principles and laws of the Universe, especially some of the secrets of physical vacuum...
I am too small a person to compare or judge the merits of any one of these ancient or modern theories and teachings. No doubt that a great part of God's truth is present in all of them. All of them compliment each other, rather than compete, and the final aim of all is one and the same - the awakening of humankind! This is why I have made available on this site advice and lessons from as many sources as possible, especially from the ones that I am familiar with. There is no need to stress that this is a very, very small portion of ancient wisdom and the vast knowledge about the Universe that is needed for spiritual growth today.
Falun Dafa is a great example of the common goal of all spiritual teachings.
So, what is Falun Dafa?
Falun Dafa See Wikipedia (also called Falun Gong, or just Dafa) is a high-level cultivation practice guided by the characteristics of the universe — Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance.
"Cultivation" means continuously striving to better harmonize oneself with these universal principles. “Practice” refers to the exercises – five sets of easy-to-learn gentle movements and meditation. Cultivating oneself is essential; practicing the exercises supplements the process.
Over time, the principles of Dafa unveil the deepest and most profound truths of the universe. Following the principles, practitioners of Falun Dafa are able to reach very high realms, enlightening to the true meanings of life, and finding the path of return to their origins and true selves.
While the exercises have deep inner meanings, they also help to reduce stress and can bring great improvements in health and fitness.
The Beginnings
Falun Dafa has an ancient history. It was passed down over the ages from a single master to a single disciple in each generation. The disciple would later have a disciple of his own, to whom he would pass on the teachings, thereby quietly passing the practice down throughout history.
In 1992, Mr. Li Hongzhi (referred to respectfully by practitioners as "Master" or "Teacher") first taught Falun Dafa publicly in the city of Changchun, China, and then continued to lecture all across the country. Those who attended experienced such profound benefits that they told friends and family. As a result, the number of practitioners grew very quickly, solely by word of mouth. By 1998, at least 70 million people had taken up the practice in China alone.
Today, Dafa is practiced and cherished by over 100 million people in over 100 countries, and has received a plethora of honors.
Falundafa is closely related to Qigong but is much more than it. Qigong works mainly at the energy level while Falundafa goes far beyond energy using information-knowledge for spiritual enlightenment.
More About the Practice
Cultivators of Falun Dafa strive to cultivate their xinxing [mind-nature, or character] and remove their attachments to become kinder, more honest and more patient people. The higher one is able to elevate xinxing, the deeper the understanding one has of the teachings presented in Zhuan Falun (Falun Dafa’s primary text).
Falun Dafa practitioners cultivate themselves while living normally in the complex environment of secular society. People of all nationalities, races, socio-economic backgrounds, gender, ages, occupations, and different faiths are welcome to practice, and do so entirely of their own free will, at their own pace, and for as long as they choose.
A prominent feature of Falun Dafa is the Falun or Law Wheel. The Falun emblem is comprised of various forms of yin-yang symbols (also known as Taichi symbols) and swastikas (known as wan in Chinese). Yin-yang symbols are traditionally associated with Taoist schools of thought, while swastikas have been associated for millennia with ways of cultivation in the Buddha school.
A Falun is installed in the lower abdomen of every Falun Dafa practitioner. Falun rotates nonstop, automatically assisting practitioners to increase their cultivation energy. Unlike other practices, Falun Dafa allows practitioners to develop cultivation energy regardless of whether they are meditating or not. Falun continues to rotate twenty-four hours a day, constantly developing cultivation energy, even while practitioners are at work, at play and asleep.
The Falun is a Miniature of the Universe In traditional cultivation ways passed down over thousands of years, Taoist schools of thought have considered yin-yang (Taichi) symbols as representations of the entire universe. Similarly, Buddha-school cultivation ways believe the swastika to symbolize the universe as a whole. The Falun encompasses both schools of thought.
How Does One Obtain Falun?
Genuine cultivators who read the Falun Dafa books, attend or listen to recordings of Mr. Li Hongzhi's lectures, or learn the practice from another Falun Dafa practitioner, may all obtain Falun. The installation process is automatic and unseen, occurring in other dimensions.
Some people can feel the Falun turning when they first obtain it while others cannot; the Falun functions as it should regardless.
Master Li Hongzhi is giving free lectures all over the world. One of his first lectures was at the United Nations Geneva headquarters in 1999. Li Hongzhi introduced Falun Gong to the public in May 1992, in Changchun, Jilin. Early versions of Zhuan Falun claims that the system was tested extensively before its introduction, between 1989 and 1992, while the Chinese government claims that Falun Gong was based on existing Qigong systems, namely Chanmi Gong and Jiugong Bagua Gong. Like many qigong masters at the time, Li toured major cities in China from 1992 to 1994 to teach the practice. Falun Gong websites say that during this time, Li was granted several awards by Chinese governmental organizations. Neither Li nor Falun Gong were particularly controversial in the beginning. Li and the Falun Dafa Research Society were welcomed into the Scientific Qigong Research Association.
In 1994, Falun Gong was taught at the Chinese consulate in New York as part of the Party's "cultural propaganda to the West", alongside Chinese silk craft and cooking. The consulate at that time also set up Falun Gong clubs at MIT and Columbia University which are active to this day.
Starting in 1995, Li himself taught the practice outside of China, chairing a series of conferences at the Chinese embassy in Paris, upon invitation by China's ambassador to France.

Some basic facts of interest to practitioners
Q: What's the difference between Falun Gong and Falun Dafa? A: These are two names for the same practice. They can be used interchangeably. "Falun Gong" translates as "Practice of the Law Wheel" or "Law Wheel Qigong," while "Falun Dafa" translates as "Great Way of the Law Wheel."
Q: Who practices Falun Dafa? A: People from all walks of life practice Falun Dafa, in over 100 countries, with the largest number being in mainland China. Ages range from toddlers to retired folks in their 90's. Practitioners include government officials, university professors, scientists, craftsmen, doctors, artists, actors, housewives, students, musicians and more.
Q: Do you have to do it outdoors? A: No, though outdoor practice is encouraged. Falun Dafa exercises and meditation can be done anywhere, anytime.

Q: How long does it take to learn? A: The exercises and meditation can be learned fairly well in an hour or two, and perfected over the course of about a week or so. The primary teachings, as set forth in the books Falun Gong and Zhuan Falun, can be read in several sittings. Mastery of these, of course, is a lifelong process of spiritual development.
Q: How to start learning? A: Read the books, listen to the lectures, learn the exercises. You can watch free exercises videos Click here!.
Q: How long does it take to practice the exercises each day? A: There is no set amount of time required for practice. The full session of exercise music, if one wishes to listen to it while practicing (which is recommended), is one hour for the four standing exercises, and one hour for the meditation. Shorter versions of each can be downloaded from the Internet. Regular, daily practice is of course best, but any amount that can be fit into a busy schedule will bring benefits.
Q: Will this interfere with the practice of my religious beliefs? A: People of any faith tradition are welcome to learn Falun Dafa. Whether someone decides to focus exclusively on the practice of Falun Dafa at some point is always a personal choice.
Q: Can young children practice it? A: Certainly. Many parents testify that Falun Dafa is a wonderful source of improvement in their child's life. Many children learn the exercises quickly and enjoy the sensations of energy and calm they bring; some parents relay that Falun Dafa is the first thing that got their child to sit still.
Q: Why does the Falun look like a swastika? A: The swastika is an ancient symbol of good fortune embraced through the ages by cultures around the world. Swastikas have adorned Buddha statues for many centuries, long before the symbol was misappropriated and tragically associated with the horrors of the Holocaust. The symbol's true meaning is embodied in the Falun emblem.
Q: Who is Mr. Li Hongzhi? A: Mr. Li Hongzhi is the founder and Master of Falun Dafa. He first taught the practice to the general public in 1992 in northeastern China in the city of Changchun. He is the recipient of numerous awards and citations for his efforts to promote human betterment. Mr. Li Hongzhi has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and the Sakharov Prize For Freedom of Thought.
Q: Why is Mr. Li Hongzhi referred to as "Master"? A: This is a common honorific in China for any accomplished instructor in any of a variety of skilled arts—such as the martial arts, Tai-chi, or qigong—or religious disciplines, such as Buddhism or Daoism.
Q: Why is Falun Dafa persecuted in China? A: The complex rationale behind the persecution can be broken into four elements: a paranoid dictator's fear of Falun Gong's meteoric growth and soaring popularity; that same dictator's intense jealousy of Falun Dafa's popularity; the inherent conflict between the communist regime's savage political ideology and its polar opposite—Falun Dafa's principles of "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance"; and the very nature of communism, which to sustain itself requires periodically labeling a small segment of the population as the "class enemy" to "struggle" against.
